Calendar

See the About Us page for general information about when we meet.

Dates for major events are announced on our public Events blog at the start of each school year. Additional blog entries may be posted throughout the year to provide further details about certain events. But, for the latest information and for a complete picture of all events (including every pack meeting and den meeting), see our official calendar in Scoutbook.

Pack 421 Official Calendar

Pack 421’s official calendar is maintained online in Scoutbook (registered members only). Parents should always refer to Scoutbook for the latest information about pack and den events.

See our Scoutbook information page to learn more and for general help with Scoutbook.

Sync Scoutbook to your Personal calendar

🚨 If you sync’ed a calendar prior to August 2024, the URLs have changed. 🚨
You will need to remove your calendar subscriptions and sync to new ones as described below.

It is possible to sync Cub Scout calendar events automatically to your favorite personal calendar program if it is iCal compatible such as Google, Outlook, or Yahoo.

To start, log in to Scoutbook. (Note that this link is new for Fall 2024 and takes you to the new Scoutbook, also known as Scoutbook Plus.)

Using the left navigation bar, go to Calendar.

Confirm that “Pack 421” is showing as Currently viewing on the top right. If you have scouts in another scouting unit, you may have to pick Pack 421 from the top right drop-down menu.

Next, scroll down the page (to below the graphical month view of the calendar) to find a list of available calendar subscription links. Multiple calendar links are shown.

First, you should subscribe to the “Pack 421 FAMILY” calendar to receive pack events such as pack meetings and campouts.

To subscribe to one of the calendars on the list, click on the “Copy URL” icon located just to the right of the desired calendar name. Then go to your favorite personal calendar program, and paste the URL into wherever it allows you to add an external calendar by URL.

In the example below, we’re showing how you can paste the URL into Google Calendar using the “Add Calendar from URL” function.

Other popular online calendar applications have similar capabilities to add external calendars using a URL. You can find instructions for adding calendars in iCal, Outlook, and Yahoo by searching the web. You may also need to subscribe to calendars separately on your iPhone or Android device.

And that’s it! You’ll now see pack events alongside your personal, work, and/or other calendar events!

ONE MORE STEP!

Add all desired den calendar(s). These calendars contain den meetings and other events for your scout’s den. You may need to add multiple den calendars if you have multiple scouts in different dens.

To subscribe to a den calendar, simply copy the appropriate URL from Scoutbook, and add it to your personal calendar application using the same procedure as before. Most calendar applications support adding as many subscribed calendars via URL as you want.

Now you should see den and pack events in your personal calendar.

⚠️ A FEW IMPORTANT NOTES ⚠️

Scoutbook calendar URLs are personal to you. To avoid problems, do not share your calendar URLs with other people.

Do not subscribe to the “Community & School Events” or “Inactive” den calendars. These are placeholder dens and do not contain Scouting events.

The number at the end of the den calendar names is the number assigned to the den when the den is created. Scouts typically stay in the same den number throughout their Cub Scout career, even as they advance each year to the next rank.
